Agentic Fintech, Built for Nigerian Banking
Most “AI banking” answers questions. An agent completes the job. Ultra Pay MFB is building banking where the customer states an outcome in their own words and the bank carries out the steps — inside the limits, controls and audit trail a CBN-licensed institution is held to.
What Makes It Agentic
A chatbot tells you where the button is. An agent presses it, under supervision, and tells you what it did.
Understands Intent
Customers write the way they speak — in English, Pidgin or Hausa, in a hurry, with typos. The agent resolves what was actually meant before anything moves.
Plans the Steps
"Send 5k to my landlord" is not one instruction. It is a lookup, a beneficiary match, a limit check and a transfer. The agent sequences them instead of asking you to.
Acts Within Limits
An agent that can only talk is a help page. Ours completes real banking actions — but only inside the KYC tier, the per-transaction cap and the daily limit already on the account.
Explains and Logs
Every action the agent takes is confirmed back in plain language and written to the same audit trail as any other channel. Nothing happens silently.
The WhatsApp Banking Agent
Our first production agent runs where our customers already are. Message the official verified line and bank in conversation — no app download, no menu trees, no USSD strings to memorise.
Balance & account enquiry
Ask for your balance in plain language and get an instant answer on your registered line.
No confirmation code required
Airtime & data top-up
Recharge your registered phone number on MTN, Airtel, Glo or 9mobile without leaving the chat.
Up to ₦2,000 without OTP
Transfers to beneficiaries
Initiate a transfer conversationally; the agent confirms the beneficiary and amount before sending.
₦20,000 daily, single-use confirmation code
Limits shown are the current WhatsApp channel limits and sit within your account's KYC tier. Higher value instructions are completed in the mobile app or at a branch.
How a Request Becomes an Action
Every instruction passes the same five stages, in the same order, every time.
Verify the customer
The request is bound to a registered line and an existing account before it is read as an instruction.
Resolve the intent
Free-form text becomes a structured request — action, amount, beneficiary — with anything ambiguous asked back, not guessed.
Check the guardrails
KYC tier, per-transaction cap, daily limit and beneficiary status are evaluated before a single naira is committed.
Confirm, then execute
Value-moving actions require a single-use confirmation code. Only then does the agent execute against the core banking rails.
Report and record
The outcome is explained back in plain language and written to the audit trail with the same weight as an app or POS transaction.
Guardrails Come First
An agent moving other people's money earns trust by what it is prevented from doing.
The agent never exceeds your account
The agent inherits your KYC tier — it cannot raise a limit, approve its own instruction, or move value beyond the daily and per-transaction caps already set on the account. It has no privileges a customer does not have.
Value movement needs a human yes
Enquiries are answered directly. Anything that moves money is held until the customer returns a single-use confirmation code. The agent proposes; the customer disposes.
Every action is auditable
Agent-initiated transactions carry the same audit trail, dispute rights and statement entries as any other channel. There is no separate, lesser record because a machine typed it.
Regulated, not experimental
Ultra Pay MFB operates under Central Bank of Nigeria supervision with NDIC deposit insurance. AI changes how you instruct the bank. It does not change who is accountable for the outcome.
Where We Are Taking It
Published so customers can hold us to it. These are commitments in progress, not features you can use today.
Proactive account insights
Spending patterns, upcoming obligations and savings opportunities surfaced before the customer thinks to ask.
Agentic merchant settlement
Agency banking partners reconciling POS float, settlement and commission through the same conversational interface.
Voice-first banking
The same agent reachable by voice call, for customers who would rather speak than type.
Deeper vernacular coverage
Broader Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo understanding so the agent meets customers in the language they bank in.
Bank by conversation, starting now
